Trilogy Hybrid Has Diamond-Shaped Rail For Forgiveness
May 11, 2011 by GNN · Leave a Comment
The large, diamond-shaped rail in the new Trilogy hybrid from Tour Edge is designed to enhance forgiveness.
The sole’s design features two outer rails and one inner rail for performance from any lie. The outer rails move mass to the rear heel and toe for a higher moment of inertia, while the inner diamond rail is designed to perform as a rudder to guide the clubface into a squared position at impact.
The Trilogy has a 60-gram internal weight pad to lower the centre of gravity and the clubhead’s multi-metal construction of a hyper-steel body is joined to a thinner, maraging steel face for rebound and lower centre of gravity.
The Trilogy comes with a Graphite Design AD shaft and an Exotics New Decade Cord grip.

Tour Edge CB4 Uses Multiple Face Thickness
April 18, 2011 by GNN · Leave a Comment
The CB4 driver from Tour Edge offers a classic shape and deeper face for players seeking low launch, workability and enhanced feel.
The all-titanium head has a thin crown and cup face with low centre of gravity. The CB4 is constructed from a new 5-1-1-1 titanium material for its harder, denser and stronger properties, with greater elongation to provide thinner walls and greater rebound.
The CB4’s cup face design utilizes the Boomerang face design with multiple face thickness to maximize the spring-like effect from more points on the face.
The centre of gravity location is closer to the face to enhance control, workability and offer a more penetrating ball flight, while the heel and toe rails are in place to shift the weight to the perimeter of the clubhead for increased moment of inertia and a higher rebound rate from all parts of the face.
The CB4 features the Aldila RIP 60 shaft.
The CB4 fairway woods have a slightly smaller 170 c.c. head size with a pear shape and higher centre of gravity to produce lower spin rate and a powerful launch.
The fairways combined a 15-3-3-3 titanium cupped face with a heavier hyper steel body that eliminates weight from the face area and shifts it to the rear skirt and sole for a deeper centre of gravity.
The trampoline face design combines multiple levels of face thickness that also allows for enhanced elongation of the titanium face.
The CB4 fairways come with the Aldila RIP Sigma graphite shaft series.

XCG-4 Irons Combine Thin Face, Dual Weights
The Exotics XCG-4 irons from Tour Edge have a thin face, measuring less than 2.2 mm, to promote distance and feel, combined with dual tungsten weights behind the face to provide enhanced rebound and moment of inertia.
A deep, undercut cavity moves weight to the outer edges of the club head for enhanced
forgiveness and a higher MOI. The deep undercut cavity, wide sole design and perimeter weighting of the tungsten sole weights help lower the centre of gravity.
For playability across the entire set, each club is engineered to its specific task though centre of gravity location progressive offset, face thickness and top line thickness.
Hybrid Meets Fairway In JMAX Gold
February 13, 2011 by GNN · Leave a Comment
The new JMAX Gold from Tour Edge is a low-profile, hybrid-fairway club with a longer shaft than a hybrid and a smaller head than a fairway wood.
It has a thin, hyper steel face and walls that allow weight to be repositioned in the sole, resulting in a low centre of gravity to get shots in the air quickly and to provide forgiveness.
The radius sole is in place to help produce a crisp feel and hot launch with minimal clubhead twisting and reduced drag.
The Gold’s graphite shaft is shorter than a typical fairway wood to offer more accuracy and control, while its low torque and flex point are designed to minimize clubhead twisting at impact

Tour Edge XCG-4 Offers Boomerang Effect
December 1, 2010 by GNN · Leave a Comment
The new Exotics XCG-4 drivers from Tour Edge come in 276-gram and 310 gram models and feature a sleeker head design and heavily-radiused sole to minimize drag.
The head design features a titanium face and sole, a carbon crown, two carbon sole inserts and two tungsten sole weights. The lightweight carbon frees up 27 grams that is positioned in the lower rear portion of the head to improve moment of inertia.
To maximize spring-like effect, Tour Edge created the Boomerang face to take advantage of multiple levels of variable face thickness to create greater rebound effect from more points on the face.
The tungsten and titanium parts are assembled using Tour’s Edge’s vacuum brazing, in which the metal parts are joined using a silver filler material that is melted and distributed between close-fitting parts to reduce residual part stresses due to slow heating and cooling cycles.
The 276-gram version of the XCG-4 features a 45-gram Graphite Design Tour Ad 46-inch shaft and a 26-gram WinnLite grip. The 310-gram version comes standard with a Fujikura Motore 55-gram, 45.5-inch shaft and a Golf Pride New Decade grip.
The new Exotics XCG-4 fairway woods have a titanium cup face and crown with a heavy tungsten sole that is combo-brazed like the previous generation XCG-3, but also feature a SP700 Beta Ti face insert.
SP700 was used over other types of titanium due to its higher elongation to offer more spring-like effect leading to more distance. The fairways also come with the Boomerang face and feature a tungsten sole weight that weights 130 grams, more than 65 per cent of the clubhead’s total weight.
The XCG-4 fairways come with an Exotics Fujikura Motore shft and Decade Cord grip.
Backdraft Offers A Visible Difference

The Backdraft GT+ putter from Tour Edge has a high-contrast head and jumbo grip size to combine the common goals of accuracy and forgiveness.
The Backdraft GT+ uses Optic Technology to increase the contrast between the golf ball and green to help the golfer focus on the leading edge and alignment aids The white is also designed to eliminate distracting reflections off the clubhead.
The jumbo grip is designed to prevent golfers’ wrists from breaking down, leading to a fluid putting stroke, and to reduce grip pressure and minimize clubhead rotation.
The Backdraft GT+ comes in four designs, all with a jumbo grip.

Backdraft is available in 4 models.
An Exotic Story About Sole Power
August 18, 2010 by GNN · Leave a Comment
The new Exotics Trilogy Rail fairway wood is focused on forgiveness through the use of its three-rail sole.
The large inner rail performs as a rudder to guide the clubface into a square position at impact. The two outer rails make up the last two parts of the Trilogy sole, moving more mass to the heel and toe for better stability on off-centre hits.
The Trilogy also uses CAD frequency analysis to measure frequency from a simulated ball strike to redistribute weight and wall thickness for enhanced forgiveness and feel.
The Trilogy features multi-metal construction and combines a hyper-steel body with a thinner, maraging steel face for more distance. The elliptical variable face thickness in the Trilogy is in place to provide forgiveness and distance from more points on the face.
It also has a 60-gram internal weight to lower the centre of gravity and add stability. The club comes standard with a lightweight Graphite Design Tour AD 60 shaft.

The new Exotics XCG hybrid from Tour Edge features a two-piece construction that is combo-brazed to save weight.
The titanium cup face and crown are combo-brazed to the hyper-steel body and vacuum heat-cured for permanent bonding. This technique eliminates unnecessary weld weight and allows more weight to be transferred to the sole of the club.
With high moment of inertia and a deep centre of gravity, the XCG hybrid has a four-way radiused design to minimize ground contact and variable face thickness technology to provide a larger sweet spot.
The XCG hybrid is available in righthanded models only.
Meanwhile, the Exotics XCG irons from Tour Edge feature a dual-density dampening system so that long and short irons deliver responsiveness on each shot.
Feel, power and control are the objectives of the thin topline, tour heel grind, progressive offset and shape of the XCG irons. The heel grind is also designed to reduce turf drag in rough for consistent contact.
The XCG irons also have a heavy sole to lower centre of gravity and are available in right-handed only in both a conventional and combo set.
The new GeoMax2 driver from Tour Edge has a more sloping crown and four weighted cavities in the rear sole to lower the centre of gravity position 22 per cent more from the previous model.
The maximum head dimensions are in place to deliver high moment of inertia, while the 20 per cent larger titanium face is designed to deliver the maximum limit set by the United States Golf Association at .83.
The GeoMax2 driver comes with a .350 Grafalloy UltraLite graphite shaft. Firm and standard flexes are available.
Lofts in the standard model include nine, 10.5, 12 and 14 degrees in right-handed and 10.5 in left-handed. A draw model is also available in nine, 10.5, 12 and 15 degrees in righthanded and 10.5 degrees in left-handed.
The GeoMax2 fairway woods also have the four weighted cavities, along with a lower profile face for shots out of tight or rough lies. The more sloping crown and shallow face lower the centre of gravity by 32 per cent over the previous model.
A thin custom 450 maraging steel face is in place for more rebound and solid feel, while a four-way radiused sole offered increased ease out of rough lies. Shaft flexes include firm or standard.
Standard or draw models are available in a 15-degree three wood, five wood and seven wood in right and left-handed models and in a 13 degree three wood in right-handed only.
The GeoMax2 name also includes a hybrid with a concave crown to move weight lower and further from the clubface, a four-way radiused rounded sole, thin custom 450 maraging steel face and perimeter weighted head.
The GeoMax2 hybrids are available in two, three, four, five and six in right-handed and left-handed.
Also new is the GeoMax iron/combo set with a wide sole along with heel and toe weights to help get the ball up quickly.
