Miyazaki Shafts from SRI Sport has introduced the C. Kua series of graphite shafts aimed at weight reduction and increased swing speeds.

The C. Kua series has hit into the 40 to 50 gram weight category and have been used by a variety of PGA Tour players, including Boo Weekley, Kevin Stadler, Jerry Kelly, Glen Day and Vijay Singh.

Miyazaki ShaftsMiyazaki Shafts has also teamed with Lamkin Grips for a proprietary lightweight, Miyazaki-specific version of Lamkin’s Performance Plus grip, which comes with each C. Kua purchase.

The C. Kua line offers three distinct driver and fairway wood flex code families and two distinct hybrid families.

The Miyazaki C. Kua 59 flex code was designed for stability in the top three-quarters of the shaft, with a slightly more active extreme tip section for a mid-trajectory ball flight, added speed and a slight fade bias.

The C. Kua 43 flex code is designed to be stiff near the hands and softer in the tip to offer a stable feeling and mid-to-high trajectory.

The C. Kua 39 series wood shafts use a balanced flex code profile with a slightly softer mid-tip section for added swing speed and distance through a mid-trajectory.

The special edition 39 series is the lightest shaft ever offered by Miyazaki and will be available only in 0.350 tip configuration.

The C. Kua 83 series of hybrid shafts offers increased mid-tip stiffness for consistently penetrating long iron trajectory.

Part of the Miyazaki/Lamkin Tour Issue Superlite System, the 59 hybrid is stiffer at the butt section and has a slightly softer tip for high swing speed and mid-to-high trajectory.

The Miyazaki C. Kua driver and fairway wood shafts have a premium gold finish, while hybrid shafts feature a subtle dark gray.

Srixon Trispeed Offers Two Choices

February 23, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

The new Trispeed and Trispeed Tour golf balls from Srixon are designed to offer both distance and control.

The Trispeed is a three-piece distance ball for all types of golfers featuring a soft mid-layer with a large and resilient Energetic Gradient Growth core for high launch angle with low spin for more distance and better feel off any club.

The Trispeed is a low compression ball designed to lower spin off the driver and boasts a thinner cover and larger core than the original Trispeed for more ball speed.

The Trispeed Tour is a three-piece distance and control ball that is designed to maximize spin without sacrificing distance through the use of a thinner, softer cover with a slightly higher compression core that uses Energetic Gradient Growth technology.

“The new Trispeed and Trispeed Tour golf balls bring added performance without sacrificing distance,” said Chris Beck, brand manager for Srixon.

“With these two new offerings, golfers can find an upgrade from the two-piece ball they are currently playing without having to pay the higher costs associated with urethane balls,” he said.

Srixon Going Mellow Yellow

February 16, 2010 by · 1 Comment

Srixon sought to incorporate visual perception with the psychology of colour effect on the human brain with the introduction of its Z-Star and Z-Star X Tour Yellow golf balls.

In launching the new products, Srixon said science has proven that yellow is the most visible colour in the visual spectrum, while psychology has correlated green with calming and stress relief, which is why it combined the two colours.

The Z-Star and Z-Star X Tour Yellow golf balls also use ultra-thin, urethane cover technology, a larger core and cover to improve distance, spin and feel.

“The new Z-Star and Z-Star X Tour Yellow golf balls are currently being tested by numerous PGA and Nationwide Tour players, who are oresently playing the Srixon Z-Star series of balls,” said Chris Beck, brand manager for Srixon®.

“The response from our tour staffers has been overwhelmingly positive,” he added. “We understand that players at all levels of the game want to lower their scores and the Tour Yellow balls have definitely peaked the interest of our tour players, as well as consumers.”

The Z-Star Tour Yellow ball lines both feature Energetic Gradient Growth core technology to promote increased ball speed, as well as high launch and low spin.

The newly-developed 324 large seamless dimples are in place to reduce wind resistance for increased distance, while the new coating on their soft urethane cover is designed to improve spin performance from the rough.

Srixon Introduces Its Z-TX Family

October 28, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Srixon Sports is introducing its new Z-TX driver, fairway woods and irons, as well as its latest hybrid.

Srixon Z-TX Driver

Starburst variable face technology in the new Z-TX driver is designed to enlarge the driver’s COR by five per cent to add distance, consistency and forgiveness on the tee, as well as decreased power loss on off-centre hits.

The larger sweetspot is in place to allow mis-hits to benefit from the higher trampoline effect for more ball speed leading to added distance.

ZTX

ZTX

The Z-TX driver is made with a new low-density, highly-elastic, rolled titanium face material called Super Ti-X51.

The clubhead body is made with a proprietary, low-density titanium that, when combined with the driver’s Twin Cam sole design, allows for the redistribution of 11 grams of clubhead weight to the extreme perimeter of the clubhead for increased moment of inertia.

The six-part bulge and roll on the driver’s clubface is designed to reduce side spin and increase launch angles for better control on mis-hits.

The Z-TX driver has a 460 c.c. clubhead, while the straight top-line shape allows for better alignment and added consistency. It’s available in lofts of 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5 degrees.

Srixon Z-TX Fairway Woods

Made with a custom 455 Maraging Steel face, the Z-TX fairway woods also have Starburst variable face technology and a Twin Cam sole. Its aggressive leading edge is designed to pick balls from tight lies and rough turf conditions.

They are available in lofts of 15 and 19 degrees.

Srixon Z-TX Irons

Designed for the low to mid-handicapper, the Z-TX irons have a slight cavity back design for added playability and increased accuracy, while providing forgiveness.

Forged from 1025 soft stainless steel, the proprietary heat treatment and chrome finish are in place to offer a soft, responsive feel for better control and predictability of shots.

Five grams of tungsten weighting are positioned on the heel and toe of the sole for increased MOI and added stability at impact, while the lower and deeper centre of gravity helps promote a higher ball flight.

The stepped sole design allows the longer blade to be played like a shorter one, while offering more versatility in rough turf conditions. A thinner face centre has expanded the sweetspot by 20 per cent.

Srixon Hybrid

The latest hybrid from Srixon has a custom 450 Maraging Steel face with Starburst variable face technology.

Heel and toe tungsten sole weights have been strategically positioned to place added weight lower and deeper in the clubhead for increased stability.

The new Srixon hybrid is available in lofts of 16, 19 and 22 degrees.

Improved distance, spin and feel are the goals of the new Z-Star and Z-Star X golf balls from Srixon, which use thin urethane cover technology, a larger core and softer cover.

Played by PGA Tour professionals such as Vijay Singh and Jim Furyk, the Srixon Z-Star ball line is backed by the company’s money back guarantee.

The new Z-Star and Z-Star X balls have been tested on tour by our entire PGA and Nationwide staff and the feedback has been tremendous,” said Greg Hopkins, president and chief executive officer for Cleveland Golf / Srixon.

“If our tour staffers are as pumped up as they are about these new balls, we can’t wait to get these into the hands of golfers everywhere. Besides, with a money back guarantee, they’ve got nothing to lose by comparing them against what will instantly become their former ball of choice.”

The Z-Star is designed for low-to-mid handicappers, while the Z-Star X is a distance ball that offers high-spin performance around greens.

Both Z-Star balls feature Energetic Gradient Growth core technology, designed to promote increased ball speed, high launch and low spin.

The newly-developed 324 large seamless dimples help reduce wind resistance for increased distance, while the new coating on the soft urethane cover is designed to improve spin performance from the rough and allow players to go for the pin from any lie.

The Canadian Tour and Cleveland Golf / Srixon Canada have announced a three-year partnership that will see Srixon become the official ball of the Canadian Tour.

As part of the partnership, Srixon will provide products on the driving ranges of tour events in Canada and the United States. Also, Cleveland Golf/Srixon Canada will become the official equipment sponsor and supplier of pro-am prizes at certain Canadian Tour events.

“We have been a big supporter of Srixon balls and clubs for a number of years and we are proud to have them as an official supplier on the Canadian Tour,” said Canadian Tour commissioner Richard Janes.

“The addition of Cleveland to this relationship adds another quality brand name to the Canadian Tour family and we are thrilled.”

Dan Dodman, president of Cleveland Golf/Srixon Canada, says the calibre of the Canadian Tour is the main reason for his company agreeing to the new partnership.

“As a growing golf brand in Canada, we believe our association will continue to improve awareness with all golfers, while helping tour players achieve their professional goals by practicing with a quality product.”
