Mizuno Offers A Fresh Breath

May 5, 2010 by GNN · Leave a Comment

Mizuno has introduced Breath Thermo, a material designed to adjust its temperature based on the wearer’s body heart.

Breath Thermo, available in sportswear and underwear for colder climate conditions, characteristically changes the moisture absorbed from the body, converting it into heat.

According to Mizuno, approximately 700 to 900 ml. of moisture evaporates from the surface of an adult’s skin every day, even when the person is not perspiring.

Breath Thermo is designed to absorb this moisture in order to generate about two degrees of heat that will be sustained throughout the wearing of the garment. It is also designed to reduce the humidity between skin and fabric by about 20 per cent to offer warmth, dryness and comfort.

The yarn is treated so it doen’t expand, trapping heat inside the fabric to allow for continuous warmth.

The Breath Thermo Mock and Breath Thermo X-Treme Mock are among the offerings.

Mizuno Tees Up Two New Drivers

Titanium face materials for increased ball speed are the common bond between the MP-630 and MP-630 Fast Track, two new drivers from Mizuno.

The MP-630 Fast Track offers 45 trajectory settings through the use of two eight-gram weights. Players can adjust left-right ball flight, as well as up-down trajectory by increasing or decreasing spin rate and launch angle.

The MP-630 has a Hot Metal Ti-9 titanium face with a CNC Cortech design with an increased COR area for greater ball speed leading to better distance. The head is frequency tuned for better sound and feel at impact.

Also being introduced is the MP-630 with a pear-shaped head and a low, shallow centre of gravity for medium to low spin with a penetrating ball flight. The Hot Metal face is sheet forged 6-4 titanium with a Cortech design.

Mizuno has also incorporated a Sound Tuning Rib into the MP-630 for a more pleasing sound.

Both the MP-630 and MP-630 Fast Track will be available in right-handed models with a 64-gram MRC Fubuki shaft and a Golf Pride M-21 Round grip. The MP-630 will be available in 9.5 and 10.5 degree lofts and the Fast Track comes in 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5 degree lofts.

The Quad Cut Grooves are the result of a Mizuno process that allows for the precise control of the width, depth, draft angle and shoulder radius of every groove.

“Like any good player knows, nowhere is feel and control more important than in your wedge game,” said Dick Lyons, vice president and general manager of Mizuno USA, Golf Division.

“Every golfer is looking for superior touch, feel, and consistency on their chip, pitch, and sand shots, which is why a forged wedge is far superior to an investment cast model,” he added.

The MP T-10 wedges feature a teardrop headshape and are available in both a plated white satin finish and a raw black satin.

The new MP T-10 wedges are non-conforming for professional tournaments with the Condition of Competition and as of the beginning of 2014, will be non-conforming for elite amateur tournaments. They are designed to conform for recreational players through 2024.

The lightweight characteristics of the pure titanium are used to provide the ideal amount of thickness behind the impact area for soft, solid and consistent feel and provide an increase in perimeter weighting for enhanced playability,

The Grain Flow Forging uses 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel and pure titanium in the MP-58s, which come with a double nickel chrome-plated finish and a black chrome stainless steel muscle medallion for enhanced aesthetics.

The MP-58s also feature modified U-grooves that conform with the conditions of competition for 2010 and to provide ideal spin rate. A rolled leading edge, flattened mid-sole and rolled trailing edge for consistency from various lies are other features.

MP-68

The New MP-68 irons feature 3D muscle technology which utilizes extensive computer optimization to achieve ideal centre of gravity location that is lower and more face-centred for penetrating ball flight and shot control.

The MP-68 irons also come with a Tour Confirmed sole shape to provide the appropriate amount of turf interaction for pure ball-striking and are made with Mizuno’s Grain Flow Forging process for better feel and ball control.

The Grain Flow Forged process uses 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel for better feel, while the MP-68s come with a durable, double nickel chrome-plated finish and modified U-grooves.

Mizuno Covers All the Bases in Irons

September 25, 2008 by GNN · Leave a Comment

Mizuno is considering all skill levels, with the introduction of four new sets of irons – the MX-200s, MP-52s, MP-62s and MX-100s.

The following is a look at what’s available at Mizuno for 2009.

MX 200

MX 200

MX-200
A game-improvement iron with the goal of forgiveness and feel, the MX-200 irons use Y-Tune Technology to enhance Grain Flow Forged feel.
The one-piece MX-200s are a one-piece offering that have a new clubhead design to better place the sweetspot. Y-Tune technology uses a variety of design techniques to extend the sweet area of the clubface out towards the toe, where most players mis-it.
By modifying the shape of the sole and the depth of the cavity, Mizuno was able to develop a new Y-shape cavity pad and a re-engineered external power bar for better forgiveness, trajectory and feel.
A slightly larger clubhead and a wide, deeper and longer CNC-milled pocket cavity deliver a low, deep centre of gravity for high launch. Also, a triple cut sole is designed to deliver consistent playability from all lies.
The MX-200s also have a double nickel chrome-plated finish for durability, while U-grooves are in place for better spin rate.
The MX-200s will be offered with a True Temper Dynalite Golf XP shaft in steel and Mizuno’s Exsar IS4 shafts in graphite. They come with a Mizuno/Golf Pride M-21 58 Round grip.

MP 52

MP 52

MP-52
Dual Muscle Technology in the new Mizuno MP-52 irons includes an outer muscle pad that allows for a precisely-placed, lower and deeper centre of gravity and an inner muscle pad to provide better feel and feedback.
The MP-52s also come with a CNC milled pocket cavity that features two deep crescents milled into the clubhead to allow 14 grams of mass to be moved for a lower and deeper centre of gravity, while maintaining thickness behind the impact area for solid feel.
Other features include a rolled leading edge, cambered mid-sole and an aggressively beveled trailing edge, modified U-grooves and a double nickel chrome-plated finish.
The MP-52 will be available in right and left-handed models with True Temper Dynamic Golf S300 and R300 steel shafts with Mizuno Golf Pride M-21 58 Round grips. Other shafts, grips, length and lie options are available.

MP 62

MP 62

MP-62
Dual Muscle Technology for workability and control and Grain Flow Forging are the main stories behind the new MP-62 irons from Mizuno.
“Mizuno has long been known for the precision, accuracy and feel that our MP game-enhancement line delivers for the better players,” said Dick Lyons, vice president and general manager for Mizuno’s USA Golf Division.
“Innovative Dual Muscle Technology now takes workability and ball control to a level never before seen and even longtime MP loyalists are going to be blown away by the performance and enhanced feel of these new MP-62 irons.”
Other features of the MP-62s include a rolled leading edge, aggressively cambered mid-sole and rolled trailing edge and modified U-grooves.
The MP-62s will be offered in right-handed models with True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 and R300 steel shafts, with Mizuno/Golf Pride M-21 58 Round grips. Other options are available.

MX 100

MX 100

MX-100 Hybrid Set
Mizuno is using Y-Tune Technology in its new MX-100 Hybrid set, targeted at the mid-to-high handicapper looking for forgiveness and easy launch.
Y-Tune Technology and an oversized sweet area are used throughout the set from the hybrid four and five irons to the deep pocket design and extreme perimeter weighting of the six and seven mid-irons. The short irons from eight through gap wedge feature a deep undercut cavity with solid power bar.
The hybrid four and five irons also feature a Drop Down Crown to lower the centre of gravity.
Other features of the new MP-52 include a rolled leading edge, cambered mid-sole and an aggressively beveled trailing edge to deliver consistent striking ability from all lies, modified U-grooves and a durable double nickel chrome plated finish.
The MP-52s will be offered in right and left-handed models with True Temper Dynalite Gold XP S300 and R300 steel shafts and Mizuno Exsar IS4 graphite shafts with Mizuno/Golf Pride M-21 58 Round grips. Other options are also available.
