Another Golf Town Opening

Golf Town is opening yet another superstore, this time a 17,000-square-foot outlet in Gatineau, Que., on Thursday.

The store is located at 91 Boulevard de la Gappe, Unit B4. The store opening takes place at 8 a.m.

After recent openings in Quebec and Manitoba, Golf Town continues its growth with another store opening on Thursday in Aurora, Ont.

The new 18,500-square-foot store is located at 52 First Commerce Drive at the corner of Hwy. 404 and Wellington Road.

Golf Town To Open Two More

Golf Town continues its growth across Canada with the opening of two stores in Quebec and Manitoba on Thursday.

A 16,000-square-foot stores will open in Candiac, Que., tomorrow at 8 a.m. at 30 Rue Strasbourg in the Power Centre.

A second Golf Town location in Winnipeg will also open with 19,000 square feet tomorrow. The new store is located at 2355 McGillivray Blvd. in Kenaston Common.

Golf Town Continues Growth

Golf Town will open an 18,000-square-foot store in Kelowna on Thursday at 2507 Enterprise Way.

Founded in 1999, Golf Town has grown from one location in Scarborough, Ont., to 41 stores across Canada.

Canadian Named to ASI Power List

Marc Roy, president of the Accolade Reaction Promotion Group which is a division of Golf Town, has been named to the Advertising Specialty Institute’s Counselor Power 50 List for 2008.

The list is formulated by an editorial panel from ASI’s Counselor Magazine. Roy is the lone person from a Canadian organization and was cited for redefining innovation in the marketplace and setting best practice standards for distributors and suppliers to emulate.

“I am extremely flattered to be named to a list with so many prominent industry heavyweights and respected colleagues,” said Roy.

“It’s a testament to the devotion of all ARPG employees who, day in and day out, strive to advance our business and cement our position as the premier corporate merchandise services firm in the country,” he added.

Golf Town / Accolade Announce New VP

Golf Town has announced that its recently-acquired merchandise services division, Accolade Reaction Promotion Group Inc., has appointed Tom Lappala as executive vice president of sales.
Lappala, a former national sales manager at Trimark Sportswer Group, will oversee the field sales team throughout Canada, and aid in providing customer service.

“I have worked with Tom for several years and have always admired his achievements at Trimark,” said ARPG president Marc Roy. “The entire ARPG team is very excited about welcoming him. His integrity, values and exemplary communication skills will most certainly be a tremendous asset to our management team as well as sales professionals.”

Lappala added that he has a solid foundation to work on at ARPG. “I have always believed that the key to success is doing what it takes to attract and build on the skill sets of talented people,” he said.
