The new CG15 wedges from Cleveland Golf/Srixon features Zip Grooves and a Laser-Milled face.

Zip Grooves are created through the consistent milling of each groove to maximum conforming dimensions.

The CNC machine form cutter bit is designed to the exact shape of the groove, with the integrity of each groove maintained through application of a proprietary coating for protection during the sandblasting process.

Groove volume in the CG15s is designed to channel more debris at impact to improve ball-to-clubface contact for more consistent shotmaking.

The Laser Milled face is created using a laser to create four calibrated texture lines between each groove for a consistent surface texture to the conforming limit for improved ball-to-clubface friction and ball spin.

The CG15s also have an S Sole Grind, a three-segment sole feature that is designed to increase versatility on shots around the green.

They have a wider sole width on the heel section for better forgiveness on open-faced shots by reducing digging, particularly on bunker shots.

CG15 Wedges

CG15 Wedges come in Black Pearl, Chrome, and Oil Quench finishes.

The centre section has a standard sole width for square-faced shots, while the toe section has material removed for reduced turf interaction and drag,

The CG15 shape profile is slightly smaller than previous Cleveland wedge models to reduce turf interference and they have slight offset to encourage spin on downward strikes. The face is slightly thicker for better feel.

The CG15s offer a wide variety of bounce and loft options for players of all levels. Low, Standard and High Bounce options are displayed with a three-dot system. The bounce value in degrees is engraved on each sole to provide information to help in the selection and fitting processes.

The CG15s come with a Traction Wedge Shaft.

Meanwhile, the CG15 DSG has all the features of the CG15s with a Dynamic Sole Grind that allows players to open the clubface easier at address.

The Canadian Tour and Cleveland Golf / Srixon Canada have announced a three-year partnership that will see Srixon become the official ball of the Canadian Tour.

As part of the partnership, Srixon will provide products on the driving ranges of tour events in Canada and the United States. Also, Cleveland Golf/Srixon Canada will become the official equipment sponsor and supplier of pro-am prizes at certain Canadian Tour events.

“We have been a big supporter of Srixon balls and clubs for a number of years and we are proud to have them as an official supplier on the Canadian Tour,” said Canadian Tour commissioner Richard Janes.

“The addition of Cleveland to this relationship adds another quality brand name to the Canadian Tour family and we are thrilled.”

Dan Dodman, president of Cleveland Golf/Srixon Canada, says the calibre of the Canadian Tour is the main reason for his company agreeing to the new partnership.

“Our decision to partner with the Canadian Tour comes from the fact that we have been very impressed with both the calibre of players and the Canadian Tour itself. We have received some very positive feedback from the players,” said Dodman.

“As a growing golf brand in Canada, we believe our association will continue to improve awareness with all golfers, while helping tour players achieve their professional goals by practicing with a quality product.”

Cleveland Adds to HiBore Family

Cleveland Golf has introduced the next generation of the HiBore family, with the release of the HiBore XLi irons that are designed for greater distanced, forgiveness and consistency.

Hibore XLI Irons

HiBore XLI Irons

The XLi irons use Distance Driven Geometry that lowers the crown to provide low, deep centre of gravity. The hybrid irons feature full hollow construction throughout the set to provide consistent feel and seamless transition from three iron to wedge.

The progressive offset and sole width are designed to promote proper ball striking by promoting a shallow attack angle in the long irons and a progressively steeper angle towards the short irons.

The HiBore irons also incorporate toe and heel drag relief zones or engineered recesses to reduce turf interaction in tough lies.

Niblick

The new Niblick combines the features of a wedge, putter, iron and hybrid to create a hybrid scoring club.

Specifically designed to improve scoring, the Niblick can be used for four different types of shots, including chips, pitches, approach shots and recoveries.

The Niblick uses Gelback, a lightweight visco-elastic, vibration-damping material that is placed directly behind the hitting area of the clubface.

It also features Cleveland Golf’s Zip Grooves, technology that creates larger groove volume to help channel more debris than traditional grooves for improved contact with the ball. This technology includes consistent milling of each groove to maximum conforming dimensions for better spin. The Niblick comes with a steel shaft.

The new Cleveland Classics are designed with a precision milled face to provide a soft, yet solid, feel throughout the stroke.

All three models have heel-toe weighting to increase moment of inertia for added forgiveness and prevent twisting. All models are made from 17-4 stainless steel and come with a hand-polished satin finish to minimize glare.
