Adams Has An Idea For High Handicappers
August 20, 2009 by GNN · Leave a Comment
Adams is targeting aspiring and recreational players looking to improve their games with the introduction of the Idea a7OS hybrid and hybrid irons.

Adams a7OS
The Idea a7OS set includes three hybrids, two mid-hybrids and three short irons for golfers seeking forgiveness and playability. The a7OS hybrids can also be purchased individually.
The eight-piece set consists of three, four and five hybrid clubs, six and seven mid-hybrids and scoring clubs in eight iron through pitching wedge.
With 44 grams of rear weighting to increase launch angle and distance, the hybrids have rounded shaping with a slight draw bias for better forgiveness for the high handicapper.
With a four-way, cambered sole and an H-back channel vibration dampening system, the six and seven mid-hybrids are designed to maximize distance, gapping and launch conditions.
Low and deep centres of gravity are features of the short irons as are quad cavity backs and perimeter weighting.
“The patented gapping technology that we applied to Idea a7OS truly optimizes each club in the hybrid iron set to outperform traditional irons,” said Michael Vrska, director of product development for Adams
Golf.
“The result is a set of hybrid irons that is truly the most forgiving and easiest-to-hit that we have ever designed,” he added.
Adams Golf also created the Idea a7OS hybrid iron set for women, which provides the same features and materials found in the men’s sets, but with dedicated tooling and design specifications for a woman’s swing.
Like the men’s set, the eight-piece all-graphite set uses patented gapping technology and includes three hybrids (four, five, six), two mid-hybrids (seven, eight) and three short irons (nine through sand wedge).
Additionally, the Idea a7OS products for women include a seven-piece expandable set of clubs for occasional and newcomers to the game.
Included in the set are a driver, five-wood, five-hybrid, seven mid-hybrid, nine-iron, sand wedge, mallet putter and a lightweight stand bag.
Additional clubs are available for purchase.

Adams Has a Fresh Idea
July 15, 2009 by GNN · Leave a Comment
Adams Golf has introduced its new Idea a7 hybrid and hybrid irons, designed to full integrate together for mid-handicap players.
The set features two a7 hybrids for increased carry distance and extra forgiveness and six irons to maximize scoring potential. The Idea a7 hybrids can also be purchased individually.
The eight-piece hybrid iron set consists of three and four hybrid, a hollow-back five transition iron and scoring clubs from six iron through pitching wedge.
The three and four hybrids feature an improved sole camber for ease of use out of any lie, with rear weighting contributing to increased carry distance.
The five transition iron has a patented hollow-back design and a 13 per cent thinner face in a club designed to improve gapping between the hybrids and short irons.
Thinner top lines and sole widths are designed with workability in mind in the short irons, which also feature dual cavity backs and stabilizer bars for enhanced forgiveness and feel.
“By advancing the theories in club design through individual engineering and integration of each club into the next, we are proud to be offering what we believe to be the future of irons sets and a better alternative to anything currently on the market,” said Chip Brewer, president and CEO of Adams Golf.
“This new approach to designing iron sets should further strengthen our leadership positions in the hybrid iron
category.”
The stock shaft for the Idea a7 hybrid is a UST Proforce AXIV Core Black 85-gram graphite. In the irons, consumers have a choice of either a True Temper Performance Lite steel shaft or the UST shaft in graphite.
All Idea a7 irons and hybrids are available in various flexes in right and left-handed models. The new clubs will be available for shipping Sept. 1.

Adams Speedline is Less 0f a Drag
January 14, 2009 by Ian Hutchinson · Leave a Comment
The new Speedline driver from Adams is designed to lessen drag and airflow turbulence, conversely increasing clubhead speed, leading to more distance.
Using data from the Oran W. Nicks low speed wind tunnel at Texas A&M University and in consultation with aero-physicists, Adams has created a patent pending design for the Speedline that includes an aero-shaped crown, heel and toe scoops and improved face-to-body transition.
“We saw an opportunity when the extreme geometry drivers continually tested with higher drag and lower clubhead speed,” said Scott Burnett, director of advanced product development.
“By changing the aerodynamic properties of the face and crown in order to keep the airflow attached, we were able to deliver a significant distance advantage for the average player and tour pro alike.”
The Speedline hybrid-fairway woods are designed to offer the playability of a hybrid and the distance of a fairway wood.
The hyrbird-fairway woods utilize internal heel-toe weighting and advanced Boxer Technology to offer more forgiveness and a moment of inertia that is 12 per cent higher than conventional fairway woods.
A 15 per cent lower centre of gravity is in place to deliver higher launch and better feel compared to standard fairway woods. The increased sole camber from heel to toe is designed to offer ease of use from the fairway and a variety of lies.
“We’ve consistently seen tour pros switching from traditional fairway woods to our hybrid-fairway woods because of the dependable performance and playability similar to their hybrids. If a player likes hybrids
then they will love these fairway wood replacement clubs,” said Tim Reed, vice president of research and development.
Speedline is available in standard or draw models and feature Graffalloy ProLaunch Axis shafts with SmartPly technology.

Insight Tech a4 Driver
Featuring a pear-shaped head, the Insight Tech a4 is designed to deliver low spin and high launch for maximum carry distance and roll.
15-gram external weight pad repositions the mass low and back for optimal launch conditions.
The a4 features an external weight pad to reposition mass low and back to improve launch conditions. It comes with a Matrix Ozik shaft.
Insight Tech a4OS Driver
Made of high-tech materials and designed for ease of use, the Insight Tech a4OS has a lightweight magnesium crown designed to be 30 per cent lighter than titanium.
The a4OS is built with Boxer Technology to maximize moment of inertia through geometric shaping for straighter, higher shots.
Tungsten perimeter weighting further increases MOI, while the expanded COR zone is designed to offer a hotter face for increased distance and the a4OS is draw-biased to help eliminate slices.
It comes with a Graphite Design Tour AD YSQ-HL shaft.
Insight Tech A4 Hybrid-Fairway Woods
Adams has blended the easy-to-hit nature of its hybrids to the added distance of its fairway woods with its new Insight Tech Hybrid-Fairway Woods, which feature Boxer Technology to maximize moment of inertia through geometric shaping.
The Insight Tech a4s feature pull-face construction with a high-strength maraging steel face and increased MOI by 17 per cent through internal weighting.
A weight port in the sole is in place to precisely position centre of gravity and allow for swingweight adjustments, while a cambered sole is designed to offer playability from different lies.
The Insight Tech a4 hybrid-fairway woods come with a Matrix Ozik shaft.
Insight Tech A4OS Hybrid-Fairway Woods
A thin, lightweight magnesium crown is in place to make it 75 per cent lighter than stainless steel and transfer weight low and deep for better launch conditions.
Tungsten inserts add weight low and to the back perimeter for higher MOI and better forgiveness, while a hotter face is achieved through pull-face construction with a high-strength maraging steel face.
