Nike Golf is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Dri-FIT tech apparel by showcasing Dri-FIT Tech solid polos in its spring 2011 line.
Dri-FIT Tech are solid knit, collared polos with open sleeves that provide UV protection of 30 UPF and are available in 11 colours.
Known as a technical fabric, Nike’s Dri-FIT is not only designed to help golfers, but also runners, football players and other athletes feel comfortable and look stylish.
“When Nike Golf first introduced Dri-FIT technology to the world, it was the first golf company that understood that your clothing isn’t just what’s on your back, but it’s part of your equipment,” says Rob Roxborough, General Manager/ Head Professional at Magna Golf Club in Aurora, Ont.
“The material is light, stretches with your movements and helps control your body temperature which is key on the last few holes and the match is on the line,” he added.
As Nike Golf’s foundation fabric for more than 20 years, there is Dri-FIT technology in every piece of Nike Golf apparel including headwear, pants, polos, shorts and socks in every category.
“As someone who spends entire days in the hot sun, I really enjoy how Nike Dri-FIT apparel keeps me cooler and drier and it looks and feels great,” says PGA Tour coach Sean Foley, a Nike Golf Tour member.
Over the years, Nike has added to the performance benefits of Dri-FIT, including:
- Dri-FIT Body Mapping in which strategically-placed ventilation zones are in place to improve breathability for dryness and comfort.
- Nike Sphere Dry which uses three-dimensional fabric construction for dryness and to reduce cling from perspiration.
- Zoned cooling is enabled though Aerographic and Burnout technologies, which allow strategic placement of increased air-flow materials without having to sew together multiple pieces of fabric. The Aerographics process creates a seamless blend of performance and detail.
