Maude-Aimee Leblanc needs a victory at this week’s Symetra Tour Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., if she is to make it into the top 10 on the tour money list who get LPGA Tour status.
She’s doing her best to do just that and goes into the weekend in a tie for first at 10 under after firing a six-under 66 on Friday, a second round that included eight birdies and two bogeys.
Leblanc, who started the tournament in 21st on the money list, said afterwards that her putter was working for her on Friday after adjusting her stance.
Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, B.C., also needing a victory this week, is tied for sixth, five shots back, after a three-under 69 on Friday.
Sara Maude Juneau of Fossambault-sur-le-lac, Que., needed an 11th-place finish or better coming in to the Tour Championship to crack the top and she’s right there in a tie at four under after firing a two-under 70 on Friday.
