Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada qualifying school concluded Saturday in Kissimmee, Fla., with American Seth Reeves taking medalist honours by three shots and Cam Burke of New Hamburg, Ont., finishing as top Canadian.
Burke, a two-time Canadian Amateur champ, tied for seventh at five under after closing rounds of 68-69 and will be exempt through the tour’s first four events this year.
“It’s really important to have that locked down and to know that I’m going to have a good summer ahead of me and a quality place to play. That’s the most important thing,” said Burke.
After a final round, even par 72, Toronto’s Sebastian Szirmak tied for 11th at three under.
Q-school concluded with 41 players at least tying for 32nd.
The first-place finisher receives exempt status, while second through 16th (no ties) will be exempt through the tour’s first reshuffle. The 17th through 40th finishers, including ties, will receive conditional status.
