The Golf Management Institute of Canada is beginning two online classes in October.
Business Law for Golf Managers will include live online sessions each Tuesday, beginning Oct. 2, for eight weeks from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost is $599 and the course professor will be Hussein Hamdani, a lawyer at Simpson Wigle LLP.
The course will deal with legal issues affecting the golf industry such as the law of contracts, occupational health and safety, environmental protection, food and liquor liability, among other topics.
Marketing Management in Golf Operations will begin Oct. 4 and continue each Thursday for eight weeks from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost is $599 and course professor will be Kevin Hurd, general manager of Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Club.
Participants will apply the basic components of marketing and marketing research, Various strategies required to ensure a successful marketing environment will be introduced.
