Brad Fritsch didn’t get his second consecutive Web .com Tour win, but he and Roger Sloan of Merritt, B.C., did leave a couple of Canadian flags in the top five at the El Bosque Mexico Championship on Sunday.
Fritsch, who had a two-shot lead, coming into the final round, opened with a birdie on the first hole but went bogey-double bogey on six and seven before striking for his next birdie on eight to make the turn at one over.
He played the back nine at even par to finish the day with a one-over 73 to tie for second, four shots off the winning score at 15 under.
Sloan had a bogey-free, six-under 66 to move up 15 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for fifth at 13 under.

David Hearn shot a two-under 70 in the final round of the Valero Texas Open to finish in a tie for 13th at seven under, five shots off the winning score.
Nick Taylor had a one-over 73 on Sunday and tied for 21st at six under.
