Rod Spittle is in exactly the same position as he was 24 hours earlier after he shot a second round 65 that left him at eight under, six shots behind leader Rocco Mediate at the Senior PGA Championship in Benton Harbor, Mich.
The story hasn’t changed after Spittle fired an even par 71 on Saturday at the second major on the Champions Tour schedule.
That leaves Spittle tied for 11th going into the final, while Stephen Ames is just two shots behind him after finishing with a four-under 67 on Saturday.

Adam Hadwin is tied for 15th going into the final round of the Dean & DeLuca Invitational at Colonial in Fort Worth, Tx., after he shot a third round 70 that followed him putting the finishing touches on a second round, three-under 67.
That left Hadwin at five under, while David Hearn is tied for 24th at three under and Nick Taylor is at two under.

Tyler McCumber of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., reached 13-under par midway through his third round Saturday at the Freedom 55 Financial Open to open up a three shot lead before play was suspended due to darkness.
Saturday’s play, which was delayed eight hours and 30 minutes due to rain, was suspended at 8:23 p.m., with round three set to begin at 8:30 a.m. at Vancouver’s Point Grey Golf and Country Club on Sunday morning.
McCumber, a 25-year old two-time winner on PGA Tour Latinoamérica and the son of 10-time PGA TOUR winner Mark McCumber, was three shots ahead of Atlanta’s Wade Binfield when play was called for the day.
He was three under through nine at that point.
Vancouver’s Ryan Williams was three under through 14 and tied for eighth at seven under.
