Roger Sloan of Merritt, B.C., is making a case for himself to return to the PGA Tour next season.
Sloan was tied for 20th in the Web.com Tour Finals standings coming into the third event on Thursday, the DAP Championship in Ohio, where he opened with a four-under 66 that left him tied for fifth, just two shots off the lead going into Friday’s second round.
Following the first round, Sloan was projected to seventh in the standings. The top 25 at the end of the four-event series move on to the PGA Tour next season.

Adam Hadwin shot a one-over 71 to open the Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta, where the lone Canadian in the 30-man field is tied for 21st, seven shots off the lead.
