Ben Silverman of Thornhill, Ont., who is coming off a win at last week’s Price Cutter Charity Championship, added another top-10 finish at the News Sentinel Open in Knoxville, Tenn.
Silverman shot a six-under 65 in Sunday’s finale to tie for seventh at 14 under, four shots off the winning score.
Silverman, who had already secured graduation to the PGA Tour next season via the top 25 on the Web.com Tour money list, improved his position from 16th to 14th with his finish in Knoxville.
Michael Gligic of Burlington, Ont., tied for 12th in Knoxville.

Stephen Ames shot a final round, six-under 66 to tie for 20th at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open in Endicott, N.Y.
Rod Spittle tied for 47th.

Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada
Mark Blakefield shot a final round six-under 65 on Sunday at Hylands Golf Club in Ottawa to win the National Capital Open to Support Our Troops.
At 11 under and in a tie for 12th, Jared du Toit of Kimberley, B.C. finished as top Canadian on the leaderboard, earning Freedom 55 Financial Canadian Player of the Week honours and a $2,500 prize.

The United States and Europe each won five of their Sunday singles matches, with two halved, as the U.S. went on to win 16 1/2 to 11 1/2 in Des Moines, Iowa.
