Patrick Newcomb of Murray, Ky., endured a marathon day of 38 holes at Windermere Golf and Country Club on Sunday, shooting a final round four-under 66, then defeating Germany’s Max Rottluff in a playoff to win the Syncrude Oil Country Championship in Edmonton, his first Mackenzie Tour – PGA Tour Canada win.
Murray sank a curling 18-foot birdie putt on the fourth extra hole to become the first player to win on both the Mackenzie Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamérica, where he captured the Honduras Open earlier this year.
Jared du Toit of Kimberly, B.C., finished with a 68 to tie for ninth at 11 under and win Freedom 55 Financial Canadian Player of the Week honours and a $2,500 prize..

David Hearn finished the Barracuda Championship in Reno, Nev., with 12 points, using the Modified Stableford scoring system, which left him tied for 34th.

PGA Tour Champions
Rod Spittle finished the 3M Championship in Blaine, Minn, with a four-under 68 to tie for 41st.
Spittle finished all three rounds at eight under.
Stephen Ames, who shot a final round 69, tied for 55th at five under over three rounds.
