The Canadian team of Peter Campbell of Baddeck, N.S., and Devin Carrey of Burnaby, B.C., opened the Bridgestone America’s Golf Cup in Buenos Aires, Argentina with a six-under 65, leaving them tied for 14th after the first round.
Featuring teams from the PGA Tour, PGA Tour Latinoamérica and PGA Tour Canada, the event is a four-round, four ball event including 36 teams.
The other team of Vancouver’s Ryan Williams and Michael Gligic of Burlington, Ont., are tied for 24th going into Friday’s second round after a five-under 66 on Thursday.
On the PGA Tour, Adam Hadwin and Roger Sloan opened the McGladrey Classic in Sea Island, Ga., with even par 70s, which left them five shots off the lead.
Nick Taylor shot a three-over 73.
