Vancouver’s Richard T. Lee went into the second round of the Malaysian Open in a tie for 10th after firing a three-under 69 in the opening round at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
That left Lee three off the lead held by Lee Westwood after a bogey-free first round.

Jamie Sadlowski of St. Paul, Alta., is best-known as a long drive champion, but this week he leads all Canadians at the Colombia Championship on the Web .com Tour.
Sadlowski shot a two-under 69 on Thursday at the Bogota Country Club and is tied for 17th, seven off the lead.

On the LPGA Tour, Toronto’s Rebecca Lee-Bentham, who Monday qualified, is top Canadian after firing an even par 73, which left her tied for 65th at the Pure Silk Bahamas Classic.
The other Monday qualifier, 17-year-old Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont., fired a two over 75, while Hamilton’s Alena Sharp posted a four-over 77.
Adam Hadwin got through 14 at even par when play was called due to darkness at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego.
Hadwin had a wild ride going to that point with five bogeys, three birdies and an eagle. He was tied for 67th. Roger Sloan of Merritt, B.C., finished with a one-over 73 and Mike Weir got through 18 with a 74.
