Roger Sloan of Merritt, B.C., shot a bogey free, six-under 65 at Ashburn Golf Club in Halifax on Friday and is tied for the lead going into the weekend at the Nova Scotia Open.
Sloan is tied with Mexico’s Jose de Jesus Rodriguez, who shot a two-under 69 on Friday at the Web .com Tour event. Both leaders are at 10-under after Sloan shot a 67 in Thursday’s opening round.
Six Canadians are in the top 25, with North Vancouver’s Eugene Wong in a tie for 11th at five under after his 67 on Friday to move to five under.
Just a shot back of Wong in a tie for 14th are Matt Hill of Brights Grove, Ont., Justin Shin of Surrey, B.C., and Devin Carrey of Burnaby, B.C. Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, B.C., is at three under and in a tie for 23rd.

On the PGA Tour, David Hearn shot his second consecutive 68 at the Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia and is tied for 13th at four under, five shots off the lead.
Stephen Ames is a shot back in a tie for 25th after his 68 on Friday.
