The top of the leaderboard has tightened up at the PGA Assistants’ Championship of Canada.
Brian McCann, Billy Walsh and Bryn Parry lead the way at five under heading into Thursday’s final round at The Ridge at Manitou in McKellar, Ont.
The three leaders are each ranked inside the top 10 of the PGA of Canada Player Rankings. Each is also a past winner of the PGA Assistants’ Championship, with Parry a two-time champion.
“I had it really going early, but unfortunately I made a couple of sloppy bogeys coming in,” said Walsh of his second round that included an eagle and three birdies through the first five holes.
McCann on the other hand says his game’s consistent nature of hitting fairways and greens has paid off so far this week.
“I’ve hit the ball really well and in two rounds I’ve only played three holes over par,” he said.
In the InterZone competition (compiled of four players on each team representing their respective PGA Zone) was won by Ontario (Walsh, McCann, Nick Kenney and Jim Kenesky).
