The first of three RBC Canadian Open regional qualifiers took place Tuesday at Bearspaw Country Club in Calgary, where 10 players finished two under or better to make it through to the final Monday qualifier of the 2012 RBC Canadian Open.
A total of 52 players competed over 18 holes of stroke play with the top eight and ties (10 players total) advancing to the Monday qualifier which will be held July 23 at Heron Point Golf Links in Ancaster, Ont.
Matthew Richardson of Orlando, Fla. posted the low round of the day with a four-under 67, while five others – Russell Surber of Orlando., Jordan Irwin of Calgary, Darren Wallace of Langley, B.C., Danny Sahl of Sherwood Park, Alta. and Alan McLean of London, Ont. – tied for second at three-under 68s.
