Canadians got off to a good start at the British Open Thursday at Royal Liverpool, where David Hearn is tied for 19th in his first taste of links golf.
Hearn, who got into the field when Mark Calcavecchia withdrew, had just one bogey as he shot a two-under 70 in the first round. One shot behind him is Graham DeLaet, who opened with a 71 that included four birdies and three bogeys.
Rory McIlroy leads at six under. For the leaderboard, click here.
