Heavy rain and lightning Friday forced the suspension of second-round action at the 2010 Men’s World Amateur Team Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Team Canada began the day in second place at five under par and is currently second.
The Canadian trio of Eugene Wong of Vancouver (67), Albin Choi of Toronto (70) and Cam Burke of New Hamburg, Ont. (75) had barely begun their second round Friday when play was called.
Wong and Burke were both even par through three holes, while Choi was two over through three holes.
Denmark took advantage of a morning tee time to climb into the clubhouse lead at six under through 36 holes. France began the day with a two-shot lead over Canada, but has fallen back to third at three-under.
Wong holds a share of second place in individual play, tied with New Zealand’s Ben Campbell at four under. Joachim Hansen of Denmark shot a second-round three-under 67 Friday and is the current clubhouse leader at seven under par.
Choi is tied for 17th at one over par, while Burke holds a share of 50th at four over.
Only 35 of the 69 competing countries completed their second rounds Friday. Second-round play will resume Saturday morning at 9 a.m. local time.
