Amateur Aaron Wise of Lake Elsinore, Calif., has won the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada British Columbia qualifying tournament by two shots at the Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community in Courtenay.
Wise, the sixth-ranked amateur in the world, shot an even par 72 in Friday’s final round to finish at 14 under, two up on Conrad Shindler of Dallas and Jonathan Garrick of Atherton, Calif.
Brendan Dillan of Port Moody, B.C., was top Canadian, finishing in a tie for sixth at six under after firing a two-under 70 on Friday.
Forty-one players earned status, seven Canadians.
The winner receives fully exempt status, while second through 16th (no ties) will be exempt through the first four events of the schedule and subject to the first reshuffle. The 17th through 40th-place finishers (including ties) will receive conditional status.
