The Mr. Lube Canadian PGA Seniors’ Championship kicks off Monday at Rattlesnake Point in Milton, Ont., with a new title sponsor, a new presenting sponsor in Cleveland/Srixon and a competitive field.
“We are very excited to have such a competitive field at the Canadian PGA Seniors’ Championship. In fact, this may be one of the strongest fields we have ever had,” said Glenn Cundari, president of the Canadian PGA
The tournament begins Monday with the Mr. Lube Tournament for Life Pro-Am during which Dave Barr, Bob Panasik and Jim Rutledge will perform on the driving range as part of a Legends of Golf Clinic.
“This is a fantastic enhancement for this entire championship,” said Cundari. “Dave Barr, Jim Rutledge and Bob Panasik are definitely Canadian golf legends and I’m thrilled to see that we will be showcasing the skills of our professionals in this setting.”
Rutledge, who is making his debut at the Seniors event, and Barr are just returning from the Montreal Championship, an inaugural Champions Tour event held over the weekend.
Joining those players will be names such as Rod Spittle, Ken Tarling, Warren Sye, Norm Jarvis and Craig Marseilles.
Seven former champions will be teeing it up at Rattlesnake Point, including Barr, Hocan Olsson, Adam Brown, Doug Warner, Panasik, Ken Fulton and Bob Rose.
The tournament gets underway Tuesday and continues until Thursday, while the Super Seniors (60 and older) and Diamond divisions (70 and older) will be contested over 36 holes.
