Victoria’s Jim Rutledge made a second round move up the leaderboard by firing a five-under 66 on Wednesday at the final stage of PGA Tour Champions qualifying school in Scottsdale, Az.
Rutledge put up seven birdies along with a double bogey on the par three 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale to move into a tie for 31st at three under at the midway point of the 72-hole event.
That leaves Rutledge nine off the lead going into Thursday’s third round. Full-time status is available to the top five finishers, with the sixth through 30th positions receive conditional status.
Danny King shot a one-under 70 on Wednesday and is tied for 54th at one over.
