Wes Short Jr. didn’t make his first birdie of the day until the ninth hole of the Quebec Championship, but he caught fire on the back nine of La Tempete Golf Club on Sunday in Quebec City to win the Champions Tour event.
Short’s seven-under performance on the back nine included a birdie-birdie-eagle finish as he finished with an eight-under 64 that left him at 15 under, good for a one-shot margin of victory over Scott Dunlap.
Esteban Toledo, who won last year’s Montreal Championship, tied for third at 11 under with Brad Faxon. Both of those players shared the overnight lead on Saturday night.
Victoria’s Jim Rutledge fired a final round 68 that left him at eight under for the three rounds, good for a tie for 10th.
Rod Spittle of Niagara Falls, Ont., shot a final round 66 to tie for 19th at seven under.
