Sandra Post sees Canadian amateur Brooke Henderson continuing her solid play in LPGA majors this week at Pinehurst No. 2, where she’ll play the U.S. Women’s Open, an event in which she made the cut last year.
Henderson, 16, also tied for 26th at this year’s Kraft Nabisco Championship.
“She could have a very good week there,” said Post, who won the 1968 LPGA Championship and was a runner-up at the 1975 U.S. Women’s Open in Atlantic City.
“She’s learning quickly. In the Porter Cup, she shot 62. That has really got to vault her confidence level. She’s played enough with the LPGA. That intimidation factor isn’t there any more. She just has to bring her skill to the table,” said Post.
