PGA Tour Canada will stage its qualifying school next week with its largest field ever, with 312 players set to take part April 9-12 at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon in Beaumont, Calif. Practice rounds will take place Sunday and Monday.
In 2000, 242 players took part in the Canadian Tour Spring Qualifying school.
This year, the top players will earn exempt status for the 2013 season and the next 20 plus ties will earn conditional status.
“The outpouring of interest in Q-school confirms that players aspiring to make it to the PGA Tour see the value in playing PGA Tour Canada and how it will assist them in reaching their goal,” said PGA Tour Canada president Jeff Monday.
“We look forward to a highly competitive tournament that will see some excellent players qualify for the tour,” he added.
Q-school will consist of 72 holes on the Legends and Champions courses. The PGA Tour Canada season will begin in early June at the Times Colonist Island Savings Open in Victoria.
