Maude-Aimee Leblanc of Sherbrooke, Que., and Anne-Catherine Tanguay of Quebec City are tied for seventh going into the weekend at the season-ending Symetra Tour Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Both are at six under, six shots off the lead as Leblanc shot a seven-under 65 in Friday’s second round and Tanguay fired a five-under 67.
Leblanc came into the Tour Championship in 15th place on the money list and needs at least a fourth place finish to possibly finish in the top 10 who will receive LPGA status for next year.
Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, B.C., who started the week in 19th place on the money list, goes into the weekend in a tie for 23rd, along with Sara-Maude Juneau of Fossambault, each at three under. Richdale, who needs a solo second to potentially earn status, and Juneau each shot a 71 on Friday.
Augusta James of Bath, Ont., missed the cut after a 76 on Friday left her at six over. James came into the Tour Championship in ninth place on the money list and will have to wait until Sunday to see if she stays in the top 10.
