Over 600 members of the National Golf Course Owners Association will offer free golf to kids under 16 who are accompanied by a paying adult during the Take A Kid To The Course Week, which kicks off today across Canada.
The idea is to encourage families and juniors to take up golf and illustrate how the game can improve parents’ relationships with their children. Certain courses will be offering additional programming.
“Golf provides kids with valuable life skills, such as perseverance, patience, and respect,” said NGCOA executive director Jeff Calderwood. “They will enjoy quality time with family and friends and experience an activity that takes them away from the computer and into the great outdoors.”
