PGA Tour Latinoamerica goes on to win the first event in December … Golf Ontario director of rules and competitions Dave Colling retires after a career that also included a stint as executive director of the PGA of Canada … GNN announces that it has gone over a million all-time visitors … The Bruno Event Team (BET) announces that Sean Van Kesteren has been promoted to assistant vice president and senior director of its golf division in Canada. BET works with the Manulife LPGA Classic in Cambridge, Ont., and the Shaw Charity Classic PGA Tour Champions event in Calgary. Van Kesteren joined Bruno Event Team in 2013 as executive director of the Shaw Charity Classic … The Lambton Golf and Country Club in Toronto apologizes to a woman who was asked to move out of a public area to breastfeed her infant son … Gord De Laat, 99, is announced as an inductee into the Etobicoke Sports Hall of Fame after a career that included 30 years as head pro at the Weston Golf and Country Club … In the U.S., Dick’s Sporting Goods teams up with liquidators and win a bankruptcy auction for the American business of Golfsmith with a bid of around $70-million, which had filed for Chapter 11 … Acushnet makes its debut on the New York Stock Exchange, but its stock opens at $17 instead of in the expected $21-$24 range.
