The Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour season begins to wind down with three tournaments remaining on the 2017 schedule, including this week’s Cape Breton Open at Bell Bay, where Peter Campbell of Baddeck, N.S., makes his first start of the season on a golf course he grew up playing.
Campbell has made 36 starts on the Mackenzie Tour and has three top 10 finishes, including a tie for second at the 2014 National Capital Open to Support Our Troops in Ottawa.
Over the past two seasons, Campbell has played on PGA Tour Latinoamerica, where he had five top 10 finishes last year. He is playing this week on a sponsor exemption.
Other sponsor exemptions include Austin James of Bath, Ont., Trevor Chow of Baddeck, Brad Curran of Hammonds Plains, N.S., Pat Decoste of Enfield, N.S., and Riley Fleming of Airdrie, Alta.
Monday qualifiers include Samer Kalia of Campbellville, Ont., Mark-Etienne Bussieres of Sherbrooke, Que., Marc Lefebvre of London, Ont., Sean Bozuk of Burlington, Ont., and Brett Kennedy of Waterloo, Ont.
