With 75 players completing their first round on day two of Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada qualifying school in Port St. Lucie, Fla., Chris Hemmerich never got out of the gate for his second round.
Hemmerich, who was tied for first after completing his first round with a six-under 66, is four shots behind American amateur Carter Jenkins, who got in his entire second round on Wednesday, also recording a 66 to move to 10 under.
Hemmerich was one of 69 players left to finish their second rounds when play was called at 7:36 p.m. ET. Play will resume at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
With Hemmerich tied for third, amateur Elliott Whitley of Hamilton is just a shot back after he finished both of his rounds with scores of 66-73. He is tied for seventh at five under.
The first-place finisher receives exempt status, while second through 16th (no ties) will be exempt through the tour’s first reshuffle. The 17th through 40th finishers, including ties, will receive conditional status.
