To nobody’s surprise, it’s official.
The Manulife Financial LPGA Classic has announced that the fourth and fifth staging of the tournament will take place at Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge, Ont., after the first three playings of the event took place at Grey Silo in nearby Waterloo.
“Grey Silo, GolfNorth and the City of Waterloo have been great partners throughout this journey of bringing the world’s best female golfers to Waterloo Region,” said Hugh Morrow, CEO of Sports Properties International.
“As the tournament continues to grow, we are pleased to announce a new location for 2015 and 2016 at Whistle Bear Golf Club, and like Grey Silo, I know our partnership will be successful for this world-class event,” he added.
In its first three years, the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic has seen more than 184,000 spectators pass through the gates at Grey Silo, where Inbee Park won this year.
“We’re confident Whistle Bear will serve as a wonderful host course to golfers and fans, while representing Waterloo Region on a global stage,” said Marianne Harrison, president and CEO of Manulife Canada.
The fourth annual Manulife Financial LPGA Classic will take place June 3-7, 2015.
