Two-time world long drive champion Jamie Sadlowski of St. Albert, Alta., and 2016 RBC Canadian Open sensation Jared du Toit of Kimberley, B.C., who just turned pro, are among the sponsor exemptions at this week’s Bayview Place Cardtronics Open in Victoria.
Sadlowski is making his 2017 debut in the second event of the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada season, while du Toit is making his pro debut at Uplands Golf Club after concluding his collegiate career at Arizona State.
Other sponsor exemptions include Brian Sluggett, Ben Griffin, Isaac Weintraub, Keaton Gudz, Nolan Thoroughgood, all from Victoria, and Steven Lecuyer of Grimshaw, Alta.
Monday qualifiers include Raoul Mendard of Ange-Gardien, Que., Andrew Funk of Edmonton and Andrew Ledger of Toronto, in a field that includes 12 players from British Columbia, including the aforementioned, as well as defending champ Adam Cornelson of Langley, Seann Harlingten of West Vancouver, Riley Wheeldon of Comox, Ryan Williams and Stuart Macdonald, each from Vancouver.
