Kevin Thistle is leaving his position as president of Coppinwood, near Uxbridge, Ont.
Thistle joined Coppinwood in 2009 after 16 years at nearby Angus Glen, where he served in a variety of positions, including president. You can read about his arrival at Coppinwood here.
“What was clear to me then – and is still the case – that Coppinwood was a remarkable facility and home to many incredible members who made it a special place,” said Thistle, who also writes a regular GNN blog, in an e-mail.
“In the years since I became part of the staff at Coppinwood, I’ve witnessed the growth of a golf club that is recognized as one of the best, not just in Canada, but anywhere in the world. I’m proud to have been a part of that and I know every member is equally proud of the club,” he said.
While he gave no reason for his departure or what his future holds, Thistle did say he will continue as a member of Coppinwood.
“I’m certain the club will continue to make more progress in the coming years and I’m pleased to have offered some help along the way. My time at Coppinwood has been very special to me and I plan on fostering the relationship for years to come,” he wrote.
