Jared du Toit tied for 17th at the Freedom 55 Financial Championship, the season finale on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada schedule and that finish earned him Freedom 55 Financial Canadian Player of the Year honors, which comes with a $25,000 prize.
“It means a lot to me,” said du Toit, who joined the tour earlier this season after finishing his collegiate career at Arizona State.
“I pretty well hit the ground running this season and there’s plenty of room for improvement, so I’m excited about that,” he said.
“It’s been a whirlwind, but I definitely took the right steps in learning how to be a pro and hopefully that can continue,” said du Toit.
Kramer Hickok of Dallas wrapped up Player of the Year honours on Sunday, finishing with $122,502 in earnings on to top the Order of Merit and lead five players who earned status on the Web.com Tour for 2018.
