Martin Kaymer enjoyed the five-under 65 he shot in Thursday’s first round at the U.S. Open so much that he did it again on Friday at Pinehurst No. 2.
Kaymer is at 10-under and when he came off the course after Friday’s round, he had an eight-shot lead that whittled down to six by the end of the day, which doesn’t change the fact that Kaymer is in the rare position of dominating a U.S. Open.

On the opposite side of the leaderboard, Graham DeLaet also repeated his Thursday score with a second round 75 that left him at 10-over after a day that included two birdies, two bogeys, a double bogey and a triple bogey.
As a result, no Canadians will play the weekend at Pinehurst as DeLaet missed the cut, which was five over.
