When Matt Hill of Bright’s Grove, Ont., won his first Canadian Tour event at the Dakota Dunes Casino Open in Saskatoon on the weekend, it put him on top of the tour’s Order of Merit.
It also put Hill in prime position to land one of two exemptions available through the Order of Merit into the RBC Canadian Open at Hamilton Golf and Country Club in a couple of weeks.
Those exemptions will be named after this week’s Canadian Tour Players Cup concludes on Sunday in Winnipeg.
Hill isn’t the only Canadian in contention for an exemption into the Open. The top three and six of the top 10 on the Order of Merit are Canadian. Here’s a look:
