Brooke Henderson hit for three birdies in her final five holes of the Olympic women’s golf competition, but fell two shots short of the medals in Rio.
After a third round 75 on Friday, Henderson made a run for the medals, finishing with a four-under 67 on the day. That left Henderson at eight under for all four rounds and tied for seventh.
Inbee Park of South Korea won the gold medal decisively, finishing at 16 under, five ahead of silver medalist and world No. 1 Lydia Ko. China’s Shanshan Feng won the bronze at 10 under.
Hamilton’s Alena Sharp finished the Olympic event with a score of 69. Sharp finished 30th.
