Both David Hearn and Brad Fritsch are sitting right on the bubbles of categories they’d like to be in once the FedEx Cup regular season ends Sunday following the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C.
Fritsch is tied for 33rd at seven under after three rounds after he shot an even par 70 on Saturday.
Hearn shot a third round 73 and is now tied for 70th at two under. Between them is Nick Taylor who is tied for 43rd at six under after he shot his third consecutive 68.
Taylor is currently 84th in projected FedEx Cup standings, leaving him well inside the top 125 who move on to the playoffs. Hearn, however, is currently sitting in 125th, which gives him the final spot with one round to go in Greensboro.
If Hearn missed the top 125 on Sunday, he will lose his current status and will need to play the Web.com Finals to earn one of 25 spots available in that series that would put him back as a regular on the PGA Tour .
Players 126 through 200 from the FedEx regular season standings are eligible for the Web.com Finals. Currently sitting in 200th, the final spot in that category, is Fritsch, who began the week in 205th spot.
PGA Tour Champions
At the Dicks Sporting Goods Open in Endicott, N.Y., Rod Spittle and Stephen Ames are both tied for 49th at even par.
