Adam Hadwin and Mackenzie Hughes have each moved on in the FedEx Cup playoffs, while Hadwin had extra icing on the cake by becoming a member of the International team for the upcoming Presidents Cup after the Dell Technologies Championship, which concluded Monday in Boston.
Hadwin will join assistant coach Mike Weir on the International team. Weir and Graham DeLaet are the only other Canadians to play in the Presidents Cup, but before that happens, he still has two events remaining in the FedEx Cup playoffs after he and Hughes both tied for 13th on Monday.
Hadwin shot a two-over 73 on Monday to drop down the leaderboard and was met by Hughes, who fired a bogey-free, four-under 67. Both finished at eight under.
The final leaderboard is here.
Hadwin is currently 16th in FedEx Cup post-season standings, which would put him in the top 30 that play in the season-ending Tour Championship. Hughes is just one spot out of that group, but will be among the top 70 who will play next week’s BMW Championship in Lake Forest, Ill.
Both DeLaet and Nick Taylor have been eliminated from further FedEx Cup playoff action.
