Adam Hadwin has moved to within $16,000 of Carlos Ortiz in regular season earnings on the Web .com Tour after his tie for 10th at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship in Columbus, Ohio, where Ortiz missed the cut.
With one event remaining on the schedule and in the Web .com Finals, Ortiz leads with $515,403, while Hadwin, who won the Chiquita Classic a week ago, is second with $499,667.
Both Ortiz and Hadwin finished in the top 25 who earn graduation to the PGA Tour, with Ortiz leading that group prior to the Web .com Finals.
Those top 25 players are competing against each other for PGA Tour priority, with regular season earnings counting in their totals and the final leader getting a spot in The Players Championship.
Web .com players from outside the top 25 are competing against PGA Tour players who finished 126-200 in the FedEx Cup standings for another 25 spots on the PGA Tour based on their earnings in the four Web .com Finals events.
Hadwin leads that list with $206,000 and if he should finish on top, he could get full status on the PGA Tour.
The Finals wrap up at the Web .com Tour Championship, which gets underway Thursday at TPC Sawgrass.
