The 2008 Jane Rogers Championship of Mississauga, an event on the Canadian Tour, raised over $42,000 to be shared between the Trillium Health Centre Oncology Clinic and the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada.
The Jane Rogers Championship is named after Jane Rogers, a Mississauga woman who raised funds for the Trillium Hospital while battling cancer. She was also a fan of golf and enjoyed watching Canadian Tour events.
“This event is a tribute to Jane Rogers and her spirit of giving,” said tournament director George Sourlis. “It is very gratifying that we are able to support these two charities in honour of Jane and her giving nature.”
The 2009 Jane Rogers Championship of Mississauga will be played Aug. 17-23.
