Brad Fritsch of Manotick, Ont., tied for second at the Mylan Classic on the Web-Dot-Com Tour, with scores of 66-64-72-68 at the Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg, Pa.
It was Fritsch’s fourth top-10 finish of the year and he took a huge leap from 43rd to 26th on the money list, just one spot out of the top 25 who earn their PGA Tour cards for 2013.
A couple of other contenders for the top 25 on the Web-Dot-Com went backwards by missing the cut at the Mylan Classic, including Richard Scott of Kingsville, Ont., who fell from 35th to 40th and Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, B.C., who slipped from 39th to 42nd

In other news, North Vancouver’s Eugene Wong won for the second consecutive week, this time closer to home.
After winning last week’s Canadian Tour Championship, Wong teed off at the Vancouver Open, where he recorded scores of 67-71-63 for a one-shot victory over Calgary’s Scott Stiles at the Vancouver Golf Tour event.
Nick Taylor of Abbotsford, B.C., and Victoria’s Cory Renfrew tied for third at nine under.
