Graham DeLaet has found himself on the outside looking in on the top 30 who make it into next week’s Tour Championship, so he needed to hit the gas at this week’s BMW Championship.
DeLaet, who was 43rd in FedEx Cup standings coming into the event, is just one shot behind leaders Gary Woodland, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy after firing a two-under 68 that included six birdies and four bogeys.
DeLaet actually had it to four under when he made the delicate chip-in on the fourth hole below, his 13th hole of the day, but he bogeyed two of his last four holes.
He is the lone Canadian left in the FedEx Cup playoffs.
