For the second week in a row and for the fourth time in his last seven stroke play events, Graham DeLaet has earned a top-10 finish, this time at the HSBC Champions, a World Golf Championships event in Shanghai.
After his tie for seventh at last week’s CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur, DeLaet tied for sixth in Shanghai. Last year, DeLaet had seven top-10s, including a tie for second at the Barclays and a third at the Deutsche Bank Championship as the 2013 season wound down.
He was also 3-1-1 at the recent Presidents Cup.
After missing the cut to start his 2013-14 season at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas, DeLaet is already closing in on the half-million mark in season earnings. So far, he’s compiled $449,667 in just three events.
That leaves DeLaet 13th on the tour money list. He’s also 13th in FedEx Cup points.
DeLaet finished at 15 under in Shanghai, nine shots behind winner Dustin Johnson, after closing with a final round 69. DeLaet opened with a bogey, but got it back to even on the second hole before taking a double bogey on the fifth hole and going the rest of the way with five birdies.
