Events are beginning to unfold as expected as the proceedings at Augusta National go into the weekend with Jordan Spieth still in a position to successful defend his 2015 Masters title.
Spieth did, however, show signs of faltering after posting a couple of bogeys in his first three holes only to have a double bogey on five put him back to even par on the day, which is where he was at the turn after a birdie and a bogey on eight and nine.
Three bogeys and a birdie on the back nine left Spieth with a two-over 74 on the day. At four-under, Spieth holds a one-shot lead on Rory McIlroy, who is chasing the career grand slam.

McIlroy finished the second round with five birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey to finish the day with a one-under 71.
Notables missing the cut include past champions Trevor Immelman, Phil Mickelson, Charl Schwartzel, Vijay Singh and Canadian Mike Weir. Other notables not playing the weekend include last year’s British Open champ Zach Johnson, Ernie Els, Rickie Fowler and Tom Watson, playing in his final Masters.
