It’s tough to measure up to a 12-under 60, which had already been posted by American Ken Looper before Corey Conners of Listowel, Ont., teed off at the Colombia Open on Friday.
Conners, who held the lead after the first round by two shots, finished the second round with a three-under 69 that sends him into the weekend in third place at 12 under, five shots behind Looper after a day that included five birdies and a double bogey.
Edmonton’s Wil Bateman is tied for 24th at five under after he shot a second round 72 on Friday at the PGA Tour Latinoamerica event.

Graham DeLaet is the only Canadian remaining after he shot an even par 70 on Friday in Palm Beach Gardens, where he’s tied for 45th at two over going into the weekend.
Adam Hadwin, who shot a first round 68, had a rough day with four double bogeys before finishing Friday with a 77 to miss the cut, along with Mike Weir and David Hearn.
