Caulfeild Apparel has agreed to distribute the Abacus apparel line – which will outfit the European Solheim Cup team this year – in Canada and the United States
Based in Toronto, Caulfeild is a fourth generation, family-run company that owns, distributes and licences several brands in golf and sportswear markets in North America. The company has a 90,000-square-foot warehouse and employs over 80 people.
“We are excited to start the cooperation with Caulfeild Apparel and we are looking forward to establishing the Abacus brand in the North American market,” said Sven-Olof Karlsson, managing director of Abacus.
“The timing is perfect, The Solheim Cup in August is a great opportunity for us to gain media coverage and consumer exposure, especially in the American market,” he added.
Shane Brett, divisional vice president for Caulfeild, says his company is ready for the challenge.
“The entire team at Caulfeild Apparel is excited to partner with the Abacus brand for the Canadian and US markets” said Brett.
“We believe huge potential exists for a well-priced, fashionable Scandinavian sportswear brand. The design team in Sweden has a strong eye for quality and details and are right on pace with the trends in the marketplace.
“With successful growth business in over 15 countries worldwide, Abacus has proven they can deliver great products and a significant brand message”.
Besides supplying the European team at this year’s Solheim Cup, Abacus will also be the official supplier for the Ping Junior Solheim Cup and also outfits the Danish Golf Union’s national teams and their officials.
